Title: What’s a Public Servant?
Another week is slowly coming to an end, and we hope your weekend is bright and full of fun.
The major issue in Trinidad remains “Roamgate.”
Tourism Minister Shamfa Cudjoe has come under fire for her 50 thousand dollar phone bill.
Enough fire for Acting Prime Minister to declare “war” on Bahamas for their fees.
In fact, a number of the PNM Cabinet have stepped up in support of Shamfa as she remains under fire.
It remains one of the most, if you can use this word in politics at all, admirable traits of this particular party.
Despite their internal issues, we are not aware of it and they all pull together.
The direction, of course, is what should concern the average joe and josephine.
At some point, Ministers forgot they were public servants.
A discrepancy, perceived or otherwise, MUST be answered properly.
Not deflect to TSTT, to Caricom, to the Bahamas.
Calls have been made for Shamfa to foot the bill.
And if the PNM wants to have a future in this country, especially with this new breed of their politician, they need to change their ways.
Because if Laventille, their stronghold can riot, what’s stopping other disenfranchised members of the population from doing the same?
