TAJ News Talk: June 28th, 2017

The Race Card…again

Why in this country do we always take one step forwards, two steps back?

There is an air of unease in the country: a damp feeling at the back of your neck, caused and not caused by Tropical Storm Bret.

The economy continues to struggle, but the lime stays afloat, like a party boat awaking the whole Chaguaramas peninsula at night.

They politicised a storm…and to an extent the Opposition was right.

Government was flippant because it’s deep South. It’s mostly agricultural lands. And poor people.

And yet, still we cause our own destruction.

There are probably more styrofoam boxes in some rivers than fishes.

We care nothing about our country or the people that live in it.

So why surprise at the race talk?

None, really.

Just wonder when and how will it all end.

And that’s a worrying thought, all by itself.
