TAJ News Talk: July 14th, 2017

Title:  Time flies

The concept of time is an artificial creation.

We can argue that tomorrow will be exactly half the year.

And 2017 continues to fly!

The average person doesn’t think long term, but now for now, which is probably why the crime situation is out of control.

But time affects us all.

2010. Then Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar puts aside a portion of her salary to start the Children’s Life Fund.

2017: The Fund has 55 million dollars, but ill kids whose parents have mortgaged their homes for medical treatment can’t get money because their children’s illnesses aren’t deemed life threatening.

2017: Fanny Village Government school sinking into swamp.

2009: Project passed to start.

2015: Project starts.

We all value time in the same equal amount that we waste it.

Red tape in government business and actions causes delays, causes wastes of time and money.

But all time is limited.

Your time as Prime Minister is limited to five years, unless you get re-elected.

It is time to stop wasting time.

It is time to make changes and stop politicising everything under the sun, and even the heavy rains.

It is time to move forward.
