TAJ News Talk: August 14th, 2017

We are Golden

As if the title wasn’t obvious, congratulations to our 4 X 400 Men’s team for taking top spot at the IAAF World Championships in London.

Lalonde Gordon, Jereem Richards, Jarrin Solomon and Machel Cedenio have done our country proud.

If nothing, these young men prove we are capable of greatness. Two of them, Cedenio and Richards both train locally.

But it is not just in sport we must look for greatness.

Former Energy Minister Kevin Ramnarine says the new Juniper platform from BP will end our recession.

A multi national oil company, whose local arm is 95 percent Trinis.

This platform will singularly re-start all the downstream industries, operating at below full capacity in Point Lisas.

In every step of our history, we have shown we are capable of rising to the top in whatever we choose to do.

So then why don’t we more regularly?

Because we fight down each other.

Because we fight down ourselves.

TAJ’s mandate is to celebrate passion and culture.

We cannot celebrate these glorious moments if they are not passionate.

If they are not part and parcel of who we are. Our culture.

Let us celebrate what makes us great.

And nurture it so we can be greater.

Congrats #TEAMTTO

We are always behind you.
