TAJ News Talk: 2nd October 2017

Title: Budget Time Again

It’s that time of the year when the country waits with bated breath to see how we are doing.

National Budget Day.

All eyes and ears will be on Finance Minister Colm Imbert as he outlines the country’s financial outlook for the next year.

And we are so not sure what to expect.

Experts on both sides of the divide have predicted doom and gloom…not surprising of course.

But what is the real state of the economy?

Will it still always and forever depend on oil and gas?

Even when oil rich countries like Saudi Arabia are moving away from the dependency.

Business owners and everyone alike are of course concerned about the foreign exchange situation.

So how do we solve this problem?

What can we sell?

Where is the money coming from?

As we all wait, see and hope, all we can do is prepare for the worst.

And given the state of the world, this is probably not the worst we will get.
