Bollywood Remakes Oculus

Bollywood produces hundreds of films each year but never really tapped into the horror. However, Prawaal Raman took it upon himself to do a horror film because he felt it was time to be different and do something for horror fans.

Adapted from the Hollywood’s Oculus by Mike Flanagan, Raman wrote, directed and produced Dobaara. Flanagan is also an executive producer of this Bollywood version. The film is about a brother and sister’s attempt to destroy the spirit-possessed mirror that killed their parents. In a recent interview with a Bollywood lifestyle magazine, Huma Qureshi told that the director had “changed main characters of the story to Indianize the story for a better audience connect.”

It stars real life siblings Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem as well as Adil Hussain, Lisa Ray and Rhea Chakraborty. Dobaara was released in India and the U.S.A on June 2nd, 2017.
